George Shammasian

He grew up in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Bristol. Upon completing his studies, he started work in the financial sector and obtained the prestigious ACA qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He then spent nine years working as a manager at audit firm KPMG in Cyprus. There, he worked on projects with many major clients across sectors including investment funds, retail and real estate. Thereafter, he took up a position at the Cyprus Payment Institution, which provides financial services under a license from the Cypriot central bank. He started as an internal auditor and rose to CFO. He joined EMMA Group in 2014 as a Financial Controller for the Group’s operations and affiliated companies in Cyprus.
