Magna MedTech

Ownership: 65%

Overview

Magna MedTech Group is one of the largest distributors of medical equipment and technology in Southeastern Europe. EMMA Capital entered this segment in 2024 with the acquisition of a 65% stake in the Serbian company Magna Pharmacia, which was founded in 1993 by Jasna Stanivuk. Over the course of 30 years, the company has grown to become the leading distributor of medical technology in Serbia.

Magna Pharmacia has been a stable partner of global medical technology manufacturers for many years, among them Abbott Laboratories, GE Healthcare and Zimmer Biomet, and a host of other renowned companies. Thanks to this, it is able to supply top-quality products to the Serbian healthcare sector, for which it also provides medical staff training and other services.

EMMA Capital agreed on joint management of the company and a further growth strategy with the original owner, who retained 35% of the shares.

As part of this strategy, in March 2025, the joint venture acquired 100% of the shares of the Romanian company Diamedix. This is one of the largest independent distributors of medical equipment in Romania, specializing in the provision of instruments to laboratories and the subsequent supply of laboratory tests. This segment accounts for about 90% of its revenue, which reached EUR 67 million in 2024.

Like Magna Pharmacia, Diamedix represents leading global medical device manufacturers such as Siemens Healthineers, Horiba and Copan, among others. It also has offices in Moldova, Bulgaria and Ukraine.

In September 2025, the Group also entered the market in Montenegro, where it acquired a 65% stake in Urion. Since its establishment in 1999, Urion has specialized in the distribution of medical equipment and devices. The global brands it represents include, among others, Medtronic, Baxter, Olympus, Drager, and Canon.

In 2024, Urion generated a revenue of EUR 13 million. The seller was the company’s founder, Mr. Milan Cukovic; he remains a shareholder with a 35% stake in the company after the transaction.

As a result of these acquisitions, Magna MedTech Group is now present in six countries: Serbia, Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Montenegro, with an annual turnover of over EUR 200 million.
