Born in then Czechoslovakia, he emigrated with his parents to the United States. Today he holds dual U.S. and Czech citizenship. In 1998, he graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with degrees in accounting and logistics. Later in his career, he earned an MBA from both London Business School and Columbia Business School. He started his career with Arthur Andersen and Salomon Smith Barney / Citigroup followed by work as an investment associate with Citigroup Private Equity in New York. In 2004, he joined Republic Financial Corporation to become a founding member of its private equity division in Denver, Colorado. In 2007, he was recruited back to Citigroup Private Equity, this time in the newly-formed London office, where he eventually became a Vice President and a key member of an investment team responsible for managing a global private equity and direct investments portfolio of over USD 10 billion. In 2010, when Citigroup divested from Citigroup Private Equity, he accepted an offer to join PPF Group in Prague, where he has been involved in numerous investments and transactions, including the EUR 2.3 billion financing of PPF Group’s Telefonica O2 acquisition. He has been with EMMA Capital as the Director of M&A since 2013 and has played a key role in the restructuring and subsequent sale of Eldorado, the second largest consumer appliances retailer in Russia as well as the growth of the SAZKA Group (today Allwyn) and the Premier Energy group. From 2016 to 2020 he held the role of Chief Financial Officer of SAZKA Group. Since then he has been a Board Member and Chief Financial Officer of the Premier Energy group. He also became a partner in EMMA in 2016.
